    My experience with online training started way back in the early 2000’s with world bank trainings in Sustainability and SDG’s. Recently with the Covid pandemic UMI trained staff under Open and Distance-education and Learning (ODeL). Thereafter, I started developing programme resources for online training and learning for various UMI programmes. I enrolled for the Strengthening Postgraduate Supervision (SPS) in October 2021 which I accomplished marvellously and was presented with the ‘Highly Competent’ rating. From November 2022 to April 2023, I was further honoured to be assigned a facilitator’s role on the SPS, under the mentorship of senior DIGI-FACE facilitators namely Dr. Christopher Mayanja and Dr. Justin Maghanga, I am really grateful for their mentorship. Know that we have successfully completed the probationary-facilitation with my Colleague Dr. Mwamburi Mcharo and have been confirmed as DIGI-Facilitators for online programs and engagements to deliver the SPS course, its indeed an honour. The DIGI-FACE course has been challenging, but a very enjoyable engagement in both roles as a participant and a facilitator, and I look forward to stay allied with SPS.

    2. Staff
      • Staff is everybody who works in the frame of a university which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network) [(i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, learning designer, administrator etc.). If you are working for DAAD or DIGI-FACE you are also staff.
    3. Alumni
      • An Alumni is a former student in a study programme at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network). In many cases, part of one of the centres’ alumni associations.
    4. Lecturer
      • A Lecturer performs teaching and pedagogic work at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network)
