The DAAD supports African universities establish Centres of Excellence, improve the quality of the education they provide and increase their research capacities, thus enabling future decision-makers in Africa to be trained in line with international standards. The blog section is a wide-ranging channel for any kind of blogs, news briefs, updates, short reports, calls and expressions of interests to enrich the African Excellence Network with relevant information from different categories.
The publications area is currently being developed.
This area will provide access to research papers, theses and many other scientific documents that have been published by the members of the various Centres. This online library service will offer valuable literature in research and learning that has been generated by Centre members themselves.
The project management area is currently being developed. It will provide assistance for online collaboration among the members of the Centres. The offered tool will support collaborative research and project work and bring project partners as well as research teams together on an operational level.
The heart of our network is each member. This section provides an overview of all the members being part of the DIGI-FACE African Excellence community.

You can connect with other members and learn more about areas of speciality as well as their achievements. Student of a Centre of Excellence
A student of a Centre of Excellence is a student currently enrolled in a study programme at one of the African Centres of Excellence.
Funded Student with DAAD Scholarship of a Centre of Excellence
A Student DAAD funded is a student who funds their studies through a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
Alumni of a Centre of Excellence
An Alumni is a former student of a Centre of Excellence and, in many cases, part of one of the centres’ alumni associations or of the alumni association African Excellence Network which is also known as “Tumefika”.
Funded Alumni with DAAD Scholarship of a Centre of Excellence
An Alumni DAAD funded is a former student of a Centre of Excellence and, in many cases, part of a Centres’ alumni association or of the alumni association African Excellence Network Tumefika. In addition to that, this person would have received funding from DAAD via a scholarship during his or her period of study at the Centre.
Lecturer of a Centre of Excellence
A Lecturer performs teaching and pedagogic work at one of the Centres.
Staff of a Centre of Excellence
Staff of a Centre of Excellence is everybody who works in the frame of a Centre (i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, etc.).
Staff of DIGI-FACE
Staff of DIGI-FACE is everybody who works in the frame of DIGI-FACE at one of the project’s consortium partners (i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, learning designer, administrator etc.).
Staff of DAAD
Staff of DAAD is everybody who works at DAAD offices.
An External Student is a student who is not part of a Centre of Excellence.
An External Lecturer is a lecturer who is not part of a Centre of Excellence.
External Staff is any staff who is not part of a Centre of Excellence.
An external user/other is anybody who does not belong under one of the other listed users.
