Dr. Anywar, a DAAD alumnus and Member of the Association of Ugandan-German Alumni(AUGA), is delighted to share that their edited volume, Pharmaceutical Properties of Plants from the Genus Securidaca L., has officially been published by Taylor & Francis/CRC Press.
This book brings together current knowledge on the phytochemistry, pharmacology, ethnomedicinal uses, toxicology, and therapeutic potential of plants belonging to the genus Securidaca—a group of species widely used in traditional medicine across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
The volume highlights emerging scientific evidence supporting their potential role in drug discovery and development.
As researchers continue to explore nature’s vast pharmacopeia, they hope this book will serve as a valuable resource for ethnobotanists, ethnopharmacologists, pharmacognosists, phytochemists, healthcare professionals, students, and policymakers interested in medicinal plants and natural products research.
He is grateful to his co-editor, Dr. Douglas Ochora, without whom this work wouldn’t have been possible.
