We are pleased to announce the upcoming lecture featuring Irene Vélez Torres, Colombia’s Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development and convener of the first International Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels (TAFF).
She has played a key role in shaping this political platform for countries committed to implementation-driven action toward a just and orderly phase-out of fossil fuels. TAFF serves as a complementary space to the UNFCCC and contributes to the COP30 Presidency’s roadmap while accelerating practical progress.
She has also been instrumental in shaping Colombia’s approach to phasing out coal.
Drawing on her experience as both a policymaker and a former academic, her lecture promises valuable insights and space for discussion.
