The Kenyan-German Centre of Excellence for Mining, Environmental Engineering and Resource Management (CEMEREM) marks ten years of advancing mining and natural resource management through research, training, and industry partnerships. As we enter this milestone year, we’re convening our community—academics, practitioners, students, policy actors, and alumni—for a focused dialogue on what the decade achieved and what the next decade should deliver for Africa’s mining ecosystems and the broader sustainability agenda.
To kick things off, we’re hosting a live X Space: a fast, participatory forum to preview the upcoming 5th Biennial CEMEREM international conference theme (Sept. 30 – Oct. 1, 2025, Taita Taveta University, Voi, Kenya), share practice-ready insights, and align university–industry–policy expectations.
