    What You’ll Learn:

    In this short, hands-on course, you’ll discover how to:

    • Unpack, set up, and use your PadCaster studio effectively
    • Plan your video through concept development and pre-production steps
    • Write clear, engaging scripts tailored to your teaching content
    • Shoot videos with confidence using your PadCaster and iPad
    • Edit your video using iMovie and Canva for a polished final product
    • Share your finished videos and reflect on the process to continuously improve

    Hands-On Learning:

    This is a mini-module designed for practice step-by-step guides for filming, editing, and sharing your videos; enrichment materials and tips for using tools like Canva; real-world tasks that help you build your own DIGI-FACE mini studio and reflection activities to evaluate your progress.

    Course Format:

    Weekly live Zoom sessions to help you connect, ask questions, and deepen your understanding.

    Approx. 7–8 hours (self-paced learning plus Zoom sessions)

    Live Zoom sessions:

    One introductory Zoom session + one Q&A wrap-up session

    Target group:

    Educators, facilitators, and academic staff

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Develop a concept and plan your video
    • Write a coherent script
    • Use your PadCaster to film effectively
    • Edit your video with iMovie and Canva
    • Share your video confidently with peers

    Requirements:

    Access to the PadCaster equipment, iPad, Microsoft Word, and a PDF reader; reliable internet connection for Moodle and Zoom; commitment to participate fully in activities and discussions and a willingness to practice and persevere—even when editing or folding the green screen gets tricky!

      2. Staff
        • Staff is everybody who works in the frame of a university which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network) [(i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, learning designer, administrator etc.). If you are working for DAAD or DIGI-FACE you are also staff.
      3. Alumni
        • An Alumni is a former student in a study programme at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network). In many cases, part of one of the centres’ alumni associations.
      4. Lecturer
        • A Lecturer performs teaching and pedagogic work at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network)
      5. Researcher
        • A researcher is an individual who is engaged in conducting research at one of the universities which is participating in DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence, Global Centres and its networks). Researchers contribute to academic knowledge through studies, experiments, and publications in various fields of expertise.
