Dr. Bokon Alexis Akakpo
Akakpo Bokon Alexis (PhD), I am a dedicated environmental researcher and development practitioner with strong expertise in land degradation neutrality, climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable natural resource management. My work focuses on integrating scientific evidence, community participation, and innovative tools—such as GIS, remote sensing, and land-use modeling—to support informed decision-making and sustainable landscape restoration in Benin. I have contributed to several projects on mangrove and Bowé ecosystems restoration, climate-resilient agriculture, rural energy transitions, and governance of socio-ecological systems. Passionate about bridging research and practice, I am committed to promoting inclusive, sustainable development pathways that enhance ecosystem health, strengthen local livelihoods, and build long-term resilience to climate change
