Ph.D.Student Assefa Gidesa

My name is Assefa Gidesa. Currently, I am a Ph.D. student at Ambo University. I was a senior researcher, crop research representative and center director  at Assosa research center under the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) for the last ten years. My main activity is introducing or generating improved crop varieties for required traits. I am undertaking several types of research in the Benishanguel-Gumuz Regional state western part of Ethiopia.  I was doing research on crop protection which was environmentally friendly for crop improvements, identification and molecular characterization of pathogen and host plants, identification of types of resistance gene in crops, resistance screening of plants against problematic diseases and acid tolerance, etc. I have experience in designing and conducting field activities.
