Course 1: Introduction to Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) part 2

This course is the continue course “Introduction to Agent-Based Modeling (ABM1)” – part 1, this course will provide the further information on:

1. Identify and give examples of agent-agent interactions and agents-environment interactions

2. Describe how to incorporate spatial data

3. Read and run Netlogo models with Netlogo codes

4. Identify and explain the need for modeling verification, validation, sensitivity analysis and parameterization 

5. Summarize options of simulating agents’ characteristics and decision-making  

Completed the first course is highly recommended to understand this session better.

This course is taught by instructors from the University of Twente. This course is fully self-paced.

It requires about 8 hours to complete. Course access period: 15 November – 15 December 2025

Course 2: Due to high demand request, we offer again a short course R-statistics for Beginners as an absolute Beginners – third cohort:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

1. Have a first feeling for how to use R and RStudio effectively for data handling and analysis

2. Import, clean, and export various data formats

3. Perform statistical analyses including correlation, regression, and ANOVA

4. Create your first professional data visualizations

5. Analyze two of the most commonly used agricultural experimental designs (CRD & RCBD)

Date: 15 November – 15 December 2025, flexible self-paced e-learning format (acceptance email and information for access the course will be circulated between 11-12 December)

The course consists of 12 hours of lectures and approximately 18 hours of self-practice. It is equivalent to 1 credit (~ 30 hours). A certificate will be provided upon successful completion of at least 80% of the course. This course is taught by Dr. Paul Schmidt (https://schmidtpaul.github.io/)
