We are glad to announce that Prof Dr Gerhard Kemp will give a lecture “Crimes Against Humanity Convention” as part of the African-German Research Network on 15 July 2022 at 12 pm (CET).
Prof Kemp is Professor of Law at the University of Derby (United Kingdom) specializing in international and transnational criminal justice, international humanitarian law, comparative criminal law and post-conflict studies and Advisory Board Member of the Research Network. He is advocate of the High Court of South Africa, fellow for the Royal Society for Arts (RSA), serves on the board of directors of the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (IJR) and is a member of the advisory council of the Crimes Against Humanity Initiative at the Whitney R Harris World Law Institute (St Louis). Prof Kemp serves on the editorial boards of several international academic journals. He has authored numerous publications on South African and regional criminal justice as well as international criminal law, international humanitarian law and transitional justice.
Before, he was Professor of Law at Stellenbosch University (South Africa) for more than two decades, visiting professor at the Nelson Mandela University (South Africa), recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation research fellowship at the Humboldt-University of Berlin (Germany), senior research fellow at the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany), fellow of the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) and Erasmus Mundus visiting scholar at the Institute for Global Studies, University of Wroclaw (Poland).
