It is our pleasure to announce the last lunch lecture at our Network for the year 2022.

On 11 November 2022, 12:00 pm (CET), our Alumna Donnet Rose Adhiambo Odhiambo will share the results of her research trip to the ECOWAS Commission in Nigeria in July 2022. In her talk under the headline “Assessing the Role of the ECOWAS Parliament in the Promotion of Democracy, Good Governance and the Rule of Law“, Donnet will examine the role of the ECOWAS parliament in trying to stem the eruption of unconstitutional changes of government across the West African sub-region. Since 2010 ECOWAS has experienced more than 40 coups and attempted coups in the West African region, with almost 10 of them taking place in the last two years alone. The recurrence of coups and civil conflicts have highlighted the weakness that have been inherent in ECOWAS’s governance architecture.

Donnet Rose Adhiambo Odhiambo (Alumna of the class of 2017) is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Regional Integration from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (2019). Currently, she is in the final stages of her Ph.D. scholarship at the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Germany) conducting research within the spectrum of comparative regional integration.

Due to pandemic reasons the presentation will take place online via zoom. You can join the event using the following information:
