As a research assistant on the Catalyzing Women's Involvement in Post-COVID-19 Recovery through Agricultural Co-operatives in Kenya (WINRACK) project, a bilateral research collaboration between Kenya and Canada, I supported a study examining COVID-19's socioeconomic impact on women participating in agricultural cooperatives across Kenya. My role spanned the full research cycle, from data collection to policy application.
I conducted mixed-methods research employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches, engaging diverse community stakeholders to capture the multidimensional effects of the pandemic on women's livelihoods and cooperative participation. Working at the intersection of gender, agriculture, and development, I co-developed gender-transformative training manuals and facilitated workshops designed to build capacity among cooperative members and leadership.
A key outcome of my involvement was supporting the creation and institutional adoption of gender-responsive policies across nine agricultural cooperatives, contributing directly to structural change at the grassroots level.

As a Volunteer with CEFRESA, a community-based organization dedicated to environmental and climate justice. I contributed to advocacy and programmatic work across several interconnected thematic areas including environmental justice, climate change, sustainable food systems, and community resilience.
My role spanned both strategic and operational functions. On the programmatic side, I assisted in proposal development and project design activities.
At the community level, I participated in awareness campaigns aimed at building public understanding of climate and environmental issues, while also contributing to communication and visibility planning to amplify CEFRESA's reach and impact. I further supported partnerships development efforts, helping to strengthen the organization's collaborative networks with relevant stakeholders.
