    Perfect for: Academics, Centre staff, and administrators at Centres of Excellence who are responsible for planning, managing, and sustaining e-learning activities. What You’ll Learn: In this practical short course, you’ll gain the skills to:
    • Use the DIGI-FACE Toolkit to calculate the costs of developing and running online courses
    • Understand and distinguish between different types of costs (direct, indirect, and overheads)
    • Create realistic cost calculations for your own course offerings
    • Contribute to long-term planning for the sustainability of your Centre’s e-learning activities
    Hands-On Learning: This course is designed for the application of guided use of the DIGI-FACE Toolkit, developed with input from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management; practicing exercises where you calculate real costs for your own course and enrichment activities to estimate and plan for the broader costs of running your Centre of Excellence. Course Format: Self-paced modules + two 90-minute Zoom sessions

    Live Zoom sessions: Session 1: Introduction to cost calculation Session 2: Discussion of your own cost analysis Target group: Academics, Centre staff, and administrators at Centres of Excellence Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, you will be able to:
    • Prepare realistic cost analyses for online courses
    • Sensitise colleagues to the importance of financial planning for sustainability
    • Apply cost-calculation skills to support long-term e-learning strategies
    Requirements: Access to Moodle, internet connection, and standard office tools (Word, Excel, PDF reader); commitment to complete exercises and transfer tasks within your Centre and active participation in Zoom sessions for discussions and feedback. Back to all courses

        • Staff is everybody who works in the frame of a university which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network) [(i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, learning designer, administrator etc.). If you are working for DAAD or DIGI-FACE you are also staff.
      3. Alumni
        • An Alumni is a former student in a study programme at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network). In many cases, part of one of the centres’ alumni associations.
      4. Lecturer
        • A Lecturer performs teaching and pedagogic work at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network)
      5. Researcher
        • A researcher is an individual who is engaged in conducting research at one of the universities which is participating in DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence, Global Centres and its networks). Researchers contribute to academic knowledge through studies, experiments, and publications in various fields of expertise.
