    Role at my institution: My role at the CERM-ESA is to handle internal IT related queries from the students and supervisors. In addition, I handle day to day operations in regards to my department.

    My journey as both a participant and teacher, in the online education space, has been one filled with a score of important lessons. As a participant I learnt to collaborate with like minded scholars exclusively on the Digiface online platform. This particular form of learning was remarkable as the exposure to a variety of features supported my comprehension when presented with contrasting content. In the role of a facilitator, I had the privilege to teach and become a multiplier by gaining experience interacting with different students coming from diverse backgrounds. The different rates at which the students engaged with the course content required me to approach teaching from a different perspective than that of learner.

    2. Staff
      • Staff is everybody who works in the frame of a university which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network) [(i.e. as coordinator, financial/administrative support, IT-support, learning designer, administrator etc.). If you are working for DAAD or DIGI-FACE you are also staff.
    3. Alumni
      • An Alumni is a former student in a study programme at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network). In many cases, part of one of the centres’ alumni associations.
    4. Lecturer
      • A Lecturer performs teaching and pedagogic work at one of the universities which is participating at DIGI-FACE (African Centres of Excellence and its network)
