About us
While the Ugandan-German Cooperation began in the early 1960s and over 1,500 Ugandans have since benefited from German scholarships. To bring together all Ugandan German alumni and beneficiaries of German scholarships, the Association of Ugandan German Alumni (AUGA) was formally incorporated in 2013.
AUGA currently has over 150 active members and continues to grow stronger. AUGA has established three constituent chapters :
- Mbarara University of Science and Technology for the Western Chapter,
- Muni University for the Northern Chapter, and
- Busitema University for the Eastern Chapter.
Our Mission
To strengthen the academic, professional, and cultural cooperation among Ugandan and German Alumni.
Key Activities
- Keep an inventory of the Ugandan-German alumni.
- Promote academic, professional, cultural and personal linkages among the members of the association;
- Promote continuous academic and cultural collaboration between Uganda and Germany.
- Promote economic, scientific and technological exchange between Uganda and Germany;
- Organize academic and professional seminars, workshops, conferences, follow-ups and any other meetings necessary for the promotion of knowledge and skills;
- Offer advisory and consultative services to those seeking Ugandan-German interaction at all levels and in various sectors with a view to promoting academic, professional, cultural and business relationships between Uganda and Germany; and
- Network with other academic, social and professional Alumni in the achievement of AUGA objectives.

Membership
AUGA membership is open to all interested individuals of Ugandan or German nationalities who have benefited from or are currently benefiting from any German scholarship scheme in Germany, In-country, in the region, elsewhere, or through self-sponsorship for a period of at least 3 months.
