Evans Mos Olao is a highly experienced and resourceful education researcher with over 6 years of experience in human development, specifically in the education sector and development research. He has a strong background in early childhood development, curriculum studies, and participatory learning methodologies. With a PhD in Curriculum Studies (ongoing) and a Master’s in Educational Research, Mos has conducted in-depth studies on foundational learning, social-emotional development, and the role of play-based methodologies in early childhood education. His prior work, such as his research on "Using Participatory Visual Methods to Teach Character Education in Early Childhood in Kenya," underscores his expertise in leveraging visual and interactive strategies to enhance learning experiences for young children, particularly in marginalized and crisis-affected settings. Currently serving as a Senior Research & Knowledge Management Officer at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Evans has led multiple education research initiatives, including the development of national early learning assessment tools under the World Bank's Primary Education Equity in Learning Program (PEELP). His other roles include coordinating large-scale education research for the Ministry of Education, and previously supporting play-based learning initiatives through the Kenya Play Project (KPLAY), and consulting for the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). As a certified AIM-ECD Direct Assessment Trainer, he possesses hands-on experience in measuring early childhood socio-emotional development. He is also a member of the Early Childhood Development Network Kenya (ECDNeK), where he is actively engaged in policy advocacy, research, and multi-sectoral collaboration.
