The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) hosts the prestigious “Digital GreenTalents –High Potentials in Sustainable Development” Award to promote the international exchange of innovative green ideas at the intersection of digitalization and sustainable development. It focuses on how digitalization can promote greater sustainability in science and society. Aspiring young scientists are invited to Germany for a three-month research stay to turn their ideas and ambitions into reality.
What does the Digital GreenTalents Award 2025 include?
- A fully funded research stay of up to three months at an institution in Germany in 2026
- A one-week spring school on current research topics with the opportunity to network with young international and German scientists
- A tailored mentoring programme
- Access to the exclusive Digital GreenTalents alumni network.
What are the requirements?
- Current enrolment in a PhD programme or current enrolment in the last year of a master’s program
- (PhD) research topics applying digital methods for sustainability
- Age: up to 30 years (exceptions are possible, see FAQs)
- Very good knowledge of English
- Above average grades
- Interest and commitment to actively participate in all parts of the Digital GreenTalents programme
