For individuals seeking to prepare an application for a DAAD PhD scholarship to Germany

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, to prepare your DAAD scholarship application to do a PhD in Germany, there will be a DAAD PhD Proposal Writing Workshop in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 

Requirements

• Copy of Master’s degree (< 6 years)
• Research abstract (max. 400 words) in Word format—must contain name, title of abstract, problem statement, objectives
• At which German university/ research institute the PhD is intended to be pursued or contact of supervisor
• Expectations of the workshop (max. 5 sentences)

What to expect:

• How to structure a research proposal in your respective academic field
• How to identify a research gap
• How to formulate your research question(s)
• How to prepare a DAAD scholarship application to pursue a PhD in Germany
• How to find a supervisor/ university in Germany
• How to apply the ethics of scientific writing
• How to use online resources
