The Role of Digital Twins in Optimizing and Transforming Operations Management

A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical object or system. It is like a digital mirror that reflects the state and behaviour of its real counterpart. This virtual representation can be used to simulate, analyse and optimise the physical object or system. This paper explores the transformative potential of digital twins to revolutionise operations management. By creating virtual replicas of physical assets and processes, digital twins offer unprecedented opportunities to optimise performance, improve decision making and increase operational efficiency.
