The DAAD is supporting training courses and participation in the eLearning Africa 2024 under the programme SDG Alumni Projects: Knowledge and Practice for Development for German Alumni from the Global South. The programme is open to Germany Alumni from the African Union with a proven background in academic fields relevant to the themes, i.e. e-learning, digital technologies in environmental education, biodiversity, climatology, nature conversation, climate change adaptation or related fields.

Provisional programme of the Alumni Seminar

Phase 1 of the SDG Alumni Project:

Training seminar from 21 to 28 May 2024, organized and conducted by two German universities, each with its own seminar topics and focus.

  • Digitising Alumni Networks – E-Learning Africa
    organized by the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus – Senftenberg in cooperation with the University of Buea (with online training phase November 2023 – February 2024)
  • DigEdu – Training Digital Technologies in Environmental Education
    organized by the University of Osnabrück in cooperation with Kenyatta University

Phase 2 of the SDG Alumni Project:

Participation in the eLearning Africa 2024 Conference from 29 to 31 May 2024 in Kigali, Rwanda.

Application deadlines

Please note that applications must be submitted to the organizing German universities. Deadlines are:

  • 31 October 2023 for the Digitising Alumni Networks – E-Learning Africa seminar organized by the BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg
  • 17 November 2023 for the DigEdu – Training Digital Technologies in Environmental Education seminar organized by the University of Osnabrück
